How many of you still keep your firearms in an open case like this?

I don't have a safe yet but I do have them locked in a closet.

My thoughts exactly.

And if I stole his guns, I would pay him to take this one back.

I did until about 3 years ago. A safe is a good buy...

Been thinking about getting one (lockable) for the cheaper guns and BB guns I and my kids have. Safe's just not big enough for 410s and 22s any more and I don't have space for another one

My dad kept all his guns in his closet. Did so for as long as I've been alive. One Sunday at 11 am, while he was at church, some fine person or group of persons kicked his door in, found the closet, and stole every damn one of them. Including all my childhood guns that I was going to give my kids. That was 4 years ago and none have ever turned up. Pretty shitty deal.

damn shame you have to secure firearms in a safe in your own home nowadays but the reality is there.

I agree. My grandfather used to have some sweet glass front built in's on each side of his fire place displaying his collection. Those days are over i keep mine out of sight and under lock and key. A thief can't take what they can't find.

It is. What's really dumb is that I don't have a safe yet either. But at least my guns are strategically hid and my house is under alarm 24/7. Still need to get a safe for Christmas though...

One thought would be to get a cheap shitty gun locker and put some shitty guns in it. Hide the good stuff elsewhere.

A case just like that is the reason why I don't have my 30-30 that grandfather gave me.

I'ma tell ya,you wouldn't be fooling many. Most guns stolen are by close acquaintances or family members.

Serious as a heart attack.

At my old house, I had them stashed so many places it would sometimes take me an hour to find one. I actually have secret compartments all over this new house and am going to be building a new one to hide somewhere about the ceiling after we get embarrassed in Tux-a-loose-uh
