We pay 6.5 dollars an acre for 3000 acres in Arkansas. Pretty much all pines.

I could afford my own lease at that rate. As it is, if its not family owned I cant afford it around here

I pay 4 dollars a acre for 166 acres in south Arkansas. Private owned land. Then I pay a timber management group 130 dollars of insurance. They take care of all the paper work also

Hello, I wanted to check and see if your land is leased. I live in NW Louisiana and have been looking for land for me and my son to hunt. I am retied Air Force, and I am very reliable. Please let me know if there is a possibility to lease. Thank you John Greer 318-564-1689

Why do you need it? I think it is cheap because it covers nothing
We lease a couple million acres annually for hunting in the southeast. If you saw some of the crap that comes across our legal team’s desk just from hunters your opinion would definitely change on that one.

Its needed because if you have significant assets, you need to limit your liabilities.

You require the lessee to have you as an additional insured(Just like ROM does). In La., the owner will have zero liability. You're just making sure you're defended free if some idiot lawyer adds you to the suit.

We pay 5-6 dollars per acre at our lease in North La. if it goes up much from that, they can keep it.

Going rate around here is $30-$40 a ac.

Too many to recount, but just got an update on one where an out-of-town friend (guest) of the hunt club president had his leg shattered when they were both attempting to raise a deer blind and it fell. So naturally he's sued everyone from the hunt club to the landowner.

I know a guy that was shot by a trespasser on a hunting club.He sued the guy that shot him as he should have but also sued the landowner. He didn’t want to sue the landowner but no lawyer would take the case if landowner wasn’t included.
Landowner had insurance so it didn’t cost him anything but he got pissed off and kicked the whole club off his land.
The grounds for suing the landowner was some stupid crap about he didn’t include a warning that hunting was a hazardous sport in the lease agreement.

I recommend that all landowners have a policy, then require the hunting tenant to have a policy as well naming landowner as additional insured.

Its been my impression that the landowner needs a policy in the event that something happens that's not related to hunting/the hunting tenant.

Correct?

Oh I know. And that's why I don't hunt there.

Correct?

Oh, absolutely, but not specifically for the hunting lease operations.

If it's property near the old Jackson Bienville, I'd be very interested in leasing it!
