1500 for a place that close to home if i could kill a couple of doe a year, have a reasonable chance at a P&Y buck, and it had a decent turkey population.

I'd continue to stay in my south Arkansas lease for the deer numbers, pigs, and to get away from the house when I wanted to.

$830. Nice to make a hunt after calling it a short day at work. Easier to take the kids, too.

If any of y'all every hear of Old Miss Hunting Club, they look for new members now and then. This is just north of Morgana. I used to be in it back in the 1980's and 90's. Nice place to hunt. My wife's family still owns a camp in there along with other members. Dam shame I don't go there anymore.

I think the dues are like $1500, but that is with a guess pass. Your kids get to hunt free till they reach 18. I can check up on this if any of y'all are interested.

I grew up hunting there, still have a camp. I think dues went up to 2k, from what I heard.

Which camp? Chustz camp in the back.

2K now? In there dreams. When I started hunting back there, it started at $150 a year.

Ha, that's the one. My dad and uncle and a few others bought a couple acres and built one in the early 90s. Trailer way off the ground.

Yeah, I think it's gone up to 2k, but I could be wrong. When we stopped hunting there I think it had gotten up to 300-400. But the thing about Old Miss Is everything else there is to do. Loaded with Fox Squirrels, turkey, fishing...

Know them well. Your Grandpaw and my FIL were very good friends.

We were in the main camp. Last time I was back there, they had let the camp go to shite.

Oh, how is your Dad doing? Is his first name is Jeff?

Ha, no kidding. Small world. They don't have a camp anymore. After the flood where they opened the spillway, they tore it down. I guess it had gone under enough times to not worry about it any longer.

Yep, that's him. Doing well. Hunts in MS now.

Will do. I was so young when we were at the old camp, I don't remember anyone but family.

And they have gone to some sort of management over there. I can't say for sure what it is, maybe 4 points on one side or something. I think they kill a few nice deer a year. Got this picture a couple weeks ago, don't know where it was killed...

I'm not in the club anymore. I can check up on what is what if you want. They do have a deer management program in place the last 8-10 years now. I know they take a few real nice bucks too each year. They don't run dogs anymore too.

My neighbor still hunts in the club. If I see him today, I will ask.

Come to think about it, I'm sure I saw you one time or another when you were a very young kid. My son is a couple years older then you. Y'all used to play under the camp in the mud together.

Your Dad still heavy into bow hunting?

Me, I was going back there to coon hunt back in the day. Was making bank back then.

Around 9K ac. When I was in there was around 200 members, but only about 100 that really hunted. Most on weekends only. Don't know how many are in now. If you know of Old River in Pointe Coupee parish, that is were it's at. Just outside of Morganza.

I pay $1000 per yr and can be in a tree in about 45 min. That's better than anyone else around these parts. It definitely has its advantages like being able to make a hunt before I go into the office. Like the rest on here, it does suck not being able I run away from the wife for a weekend! Lol. It's hard to justify camping for entire weekend 30 min. from our house.
