I usually feel pretty quiet, but today I feel like every time I move it echoes.

The sun just came out and it’s trying to convince me to take one of those right about now.

Had something similar once. Added the insulation panels to the inside. Was cheap and effective. It also was a bit of a wasp magnet so if you do it make sure to check it before entry.

I am generally quiet if i can get into a outside mediative state. (Turn your phone off and amazing the shite you see. Not meaning as an insult, but i started turning it off turkey hunting. etc and saw so much more) But in a shooting house it never fails that something falls off a shelf or something.

i am a ghost in my climbing stand but it doesn’t matter as i make so much noise climbing up. My only chance is to climb up way before 2 pm and wait.

I have seriously thought about just sitting against a tree on a ridge or something in the mornings. Our deer or born scared

You can staple a bunch of old carpet inside your hunting shed and if will really help, really anything with thickness, old moving blankets are great too. Also, you can get i or two inch foam and cut it put in on floor so when something falls it doesn’t echo etc. Also spray foam all your cracks etc. I used to be in serious camp and we did all this and had great windows etc. You could have sex in there and not scare deer. One guy did it lol

Ives used pink foam board or the rolls of silver looking bubble wrap stuff. More because I was cold.

Been doing that for over 50 years. Make a ground blind out of fallen tree limbs, etc. Works for turkeys and it'll work for deer.

Have you ever hunted with another person in your stand? If so do you notice how much noise they make? You make just as much noise.

We all think we are quite but we all make noise.

Bring a 6 year old in a plastic box stand if you really want to hear some noise!

Yeah, I have a seven year old niece that wants it bad, but her mouth doesn’t have a whisper switch yet.

I mostly do pop up ground blinds and use a crossbow. My range is only out to about 45 yards TOP. I can’t afford to make noise. Blowing does bust me more then me making noise. Been dropping estrus drops around the blind to help with my scent.
I still think I’m to loud though but as long as I’m having fun and get a deer or two I guess I’m doing it right.

I'm quiet as hell, my problem is that I move alot. That's why my stands are permanent and completely covered.

The noise effects seem to vary in their impact on the deer depending on area. Hunting in South Texas in an elevated box blind on a very still day, I sort of played around a bit, unzipping and zipping pockets on my backpack, tearing open the cellophane on my cheese and peanut butter crackers, even shucking a shell in and out of my rifle. The two feeders were both ~100 yards from the blind at 90 degrees from me, and the deer never stopped munching. Go to MS and let my stomach rumble and the deer are flagging and hauling arse.

I like the idea of putting up some foam boards on the walls, as much for insulation as anything, though I’ve only had a single morning on the stand in the past two months where I wasn’t roasting like a pig in an oven.
