You should see the back yard. Like a dumbass, I like feeding the birds. Of course, that becomes squirrels as well. I had song birds in Georgia. Down here, every thing is big. Ducks, cranes, etc. The smallest bird we get may be a bluejay or red winged black bird.

I took the coon about 8-10miles and on the other side of I75. If he wants to come back, he has to run 8 lanes of that gauntlet as well.

I’ve heard of studies done on wild animals dropped off in different locations. Nearly 100 percent die . Might as well
Shoot it. That being said, I’m a hypocrite

I can believe that but a coon is pretty resilient.

No matter what, he has a better chance than if I would have fed him to my aligator

He has a fighting chance. Its up to him now. And he should have thought about that before he tore my shite down and took a crap on my pool cage

Yeah, make him work for it. I used to take the squirrels I trapped in our attic near Stone Mountain to my office in Vinings. If they could make it back, I figured they had a right to be there. have since heard that squirrels are territorial and dropping one off in a strange territory means he won't be accepted and will probably die anyway. Should have made squirrel dumpplins, I guess.

Took three attempts to release her into the wild. We raised her from a baby. We live in the country with lots of woods around us. Finally we took about 5 miles away.

Damn that is crazy. Never would have thought that moving them somewhere else would matter that much.

I wrapped wires from an electric fence transformer around my bird feeder pole with a ground wire also. The wires are insulated from the metal pole with PVC pipe. They can't climb the pole without touching hot wires and ground wires at the same time. That was 30 yrs ago and not a single coon or squirrel has been in my bird feeder since. I watched young ones jump up the pole, get zapped, and jump 20 ft never to try again. What a beautiful sight!
