LINKLooking for a good home for a hound pup that showed up at my house. He is a loving dog that loves other dogs and children. Just wants to be part of the pack. Free to Good hunting home.

Hopefully far enough away so my wife can't claim it.

looks like some Doberman in him. I have a Doberman/hound mix and she’s a sweetheart

whatever you do don’t stop trying to find him a good home even if it winds up being yours

Looks like mostly Black and Tan hound to me,
Very good natured dogs, might make a good squirrel dog.

Agreed. The markings are certainly B&T with the tan brows etc...but the bobbed tail makes me wonder is this beaut is a cross of B&T and something like a mountain cur?

I would almost bet my next SS check that pup will tree squirrels and or coons.

Where is this pup located? You don't have to give an address, just something general like 'NE Louisiana area' or 'Alexandria area'.

You will get a whole lot more interest if anyone following your post have an idea of how far or close it may be.

Not necessarily. My Uncle ordered his deer hounds from a breeder in North Carolina. Running Walkers. Uncle Mitchell always bobbed the tail of his hounds for easy identification. He paid big money, in those days, for his pups. That bobbed tail was his mark.

Looks a lot like my Catahoula but bigger ears. Where are you located?

I’m starting to think the OP decided to keep it.I would’ve if he had wandered up to my house.
I would’ve been interested in going to get him except I already have 2 dogs.

“hounds are my biggest weakness”

Me too.I had Beagles for quite a few years.Currently have a female Redbone housedog. She,was surprisingly easy to housebreak, never chewed up anything. Not bad about getting in the garbage.
Anyone drives down our driveway she barks, would wake the dead.

We had a black Lab for 14 years.First 2 years he was destructive as hell. After that he was a great dog.
