Does the area lakes i.e Hamilton or Ouachita stay cool enough for swimming or do they heat up like a bathtub by mid-late July?
Considering a weekend trip just so the kids can enjoy some decent freshwater swimming.

Staying on Lake Hamilton 2 nights. Taking my son and his cousin walleye/bass fishing on Lake Ouachita. We’ll have dinner out at Steinhaus and lunch at a distillery one day but 2 nights in Hot Springs is good enough.

Go to the Ohio Club for sure,I feel that Hot Springs is good for 3-4 days . These days need to be planned out in advance. Plenty to do/see in the area;however, doing your research in advance will make the trip a good one vs a bad one.

It'll be cool enough to swim. They are deep so it won't be hot unless you go where it's shallow.

Rent a pontoon boat and go to the dam on Lake Hamilton. 53 degree water.

Great thing about Lake Hamilton is you can choose where you want to anchor for whatever water temperature you want, from 53 F at the north dam to 80 F at the south dam/shallow areas.
