Intruder coming in your home. Its dark, hard to see, aren't sure how many where they coming from or what the fricking deal is. Your child is in her bedroom on other side of home. You have the ability to pick out one weapon and do what you do.

Weapon Options:

A) 12 guage home defense type shotgun. 7 shots available.

B) Full size Semiautomatic pistol lets just say a 10-14 round pistol, you possibly have extra clip with gun.

C) Full size Revolver, lets say 6 round 357 or so

D) AR-15 with 30 round mag locked and loaded.

What you roiling with?

Shotgun. Good luck using a precision weapon in the dark.

But I guess some will have their tacticool AR with night vision.

.458 SOCOM AR SBR 10" Barrel.

But from the options you listed, A. But not with a 30 round mag. Too heavy and cumbersome.

30 round mag? I'll take the 30 round mag loaded with #2s. Logic behind it, the #2 will be large enough to down an intruder, especially with 30 shots, but not so large as to travel through the walls and endanger my child.

My birth control method and fire arm marksmanship is largely the same, spray and pray.

You know what I was getting at.

A shotgun is a lot more forgiving than an AR. Don't get me wrong, I love AR's. I just can't see one being more effective than a 12 guage in a home defense situation.

Unless there's 10 people breaking in or you have a huge house. Then I'd roll with my AR
