Around here we just order it online, declare our local PSA store as our home FFL ... they call us wnen it's time to pick it up. No transfer fees, no shipping.

I know you’re not being serious but a lot of online deals (not this one) really aren’t that great after factoring in shipping plus FFL. It’s why I don’t buy much ammo online.

The guy I deal with would check and see whether ordering the same gun himself and selling it to me for the same price or charging me $20 for the fee was more profitable for him. Charging the fee was usually the way he went. He was a gunsmith too, so, since I have no tools or the knowledge to do my own work, he knew he'd get money when i would buy better triggers and the like.
He closed his store here in Ruston and I started using a pawn shop in West Monroe who only charges $20.

I bet they can’t a VP9 for 499.99 + tax. I talked to my LGS and he said that price is below his cost.
