Help needed. Freezing pipes at camp

Good morning. Need some advice with the upcoming cold weather coming. I have a double wide trailer off 3 feet off the ground. What is the best way to prevent pipes busting? I was going to leave heat running with water on with a steady drip. Thoughts?

turn off the water and drain the pipes

Wrap any exposed pipes outside, anti-freeze in the commode and shower drains.

If nobody will be there during the extreme cold, as posted above, shut off water and drain but set heat at lowest setting to Lee your toilets from bursting.

When they build a double wide. They lay the main hot and cold water lines on top of or next to the HVAC duct. The pipes feeding the fixtures from the main water lines are inside the space between the underbelly insulation and subfloor. If the insulation underneath the mobile home is in good condition you shouldn't have any problems with freezing pipes if the heat is on. You could wrap the main line feeding the mobile from the ground up to the underbelly insulation if you want to go to the trouble.

1:Turn off the water heater!
2: Turn off the Main water valve
3: Drain the water by opening the faucets, hot and cold.
4: Flush the toilet !!
5: leave the faucets open.

This is a must if you’re not going to leave the heat on. A couple years ago one of the hard freezes we didn’t and busted the toilet right by the wax ring.

I’d agree with the guys that said turn off the water and drain whatever you can.
I had a friend who had a pretty nice camp house in central Arkansas, he left the water dripping, his thinking was to prevent the water supply from freezing, what he didn’t consider was the drain line freezing. It froze and the dripping water eventually flooding the kitchen and bathroom; lots of damage and work to repair.

Make sure you use the RV kind.
