Want to pick up a comfortable carry piece so I'm not lugging around a G19 or 1911 in the summer or with business attire but I'm completely torn between these two.

LC9s pluses: A little smaller, couple ounces lighter, better trigger (IMO)

Shield pluses: Easy to handle, two mags, stainless steel, no magazine disconnect

Is the Shield appreciably smaller than the G19? Is rust a concern with the LC9s just being blued?

I'm a fan of my shield but I did replace the trigger with the apex trigger

I can tell you Shield will be the consensus of this board. And for good reasons. But lc9 is a nice gun as well.

Which ever feels better to you. Just holding them in the store, lc9 fits my hands better.

I've got the lc9 and I can shoot lights out with it. I just like the way it fits my hand

The sheild is a better gun IMO, but the LC9 is still a good gun. Go to a shop and play with both of them and get whichever feels best to you.

LC9s all the way if you like the sensation of doing one-arm pull-ups when pulling the trigger.

Didn't they completely change the trigger on those?

LC9S is striker fired with a very nice trigger.
The LC9 is double action with a long pull.
I have the LC9S Pro which is striker fired, no safety and no mag disconnect. Very nice trigger in it.

I picked it over a Shield because it's easier to pocket carry. Trigger is slightly better.

Any rust or maintenance issues? I really prefer stainless steel since I'm one of those people who can rust something just by looking at it. Even so I'm leaning LC9s at the moment just for size and trigger factors.

Perfect analysis! Also, the trigger in the LC9 is wayyyyy better than the shield, but like mentioned, the apex trigger will make that a moot point

I have both. Once I got my Shield, the LC9 sits home alone. No comparison, Shield kicks LC9's arse.

The LC9 is rusting.

I have both. I prefer to carry the LC9s IWB, and the Shield OWB. Can't go wrong with either.

Are you sure these are the 2? What about the XDs? Or one of the little Kahrs in 9mm?

The XDs is a couple oz heavier and a bit longer than the Shield, which is pretty much as big as I'm looking for. Good call on the Kahr...just looked at a couple of those and the CM9 might be the ticket.

The triggers can be polarizing on those - some folks love them, others not so much. I will say - for my money, Kahr just does "that" kind of pistol better than anyone in the business right now.

I'll have to read up on the trigger but it looks like the perfect size. And Buds has one for $316. May have a winner.
