Myself, my cousin, and a friend of mine went fishing Tuesday night and we all caught our personal best largemouth. Mine was 9 lbs, my cousin had one 6.5 lbs and my friend had a 7.5. All came from a spot about 300 yds. long on Pickwick Lake. All were caught on my spinnerbaits I make and surprisingly all 3 were on a different color. We ended up catching about 60 but none over 3 lbs besides those 3. I did break off another good one trying to boat flip it like an idiot but that was the only other good one. Fished from dark til about 2:30 but all those came by 10:30.

My friend's

My cousin's

I also got my personal best smallmouth a few weeks ago. No scale that night but we guesstimated it right at 6 lbs. This has been a great year fishing for sure.

Congrats on the awesome night of fishing. But you might want to cut those claimed weights in half if you are claiming the bass in pictures are those weights.

Great fish. coming from different bait colors at night shouldn't be surprising at all seeing that its dark and fish don't have that many eye rods to gather enough light to separate colors to begin with.

Some of the worst back lashes have happened to my night fishing.

There have been nights when they only want one color combo. Usually we'll throw different ones to find what they want. Blk/Red Blk/Blue/Purple and Purple/Red are what we usually throw. Most nights one will out perform the other.

All were released happy and healthy. I don't think I've kept a bass in 30 years.

Give me a break, those fish are all plenty big to be close enough to the OP's suggestions. lol at cutting them in half, if you think that first fish is a 4 lber then you don't fish very often at all.

OP I'm ignorant here as I've never fished after dark for bass. Are you casting in open water? I'd think if you were fishing anywhere close to the bank or structure you'd get a ton of snags?

We do both open water and cast to shore. Your eyes adjust pretty well and it's not too bad. We also use blacklights and flourescent line so we can see our line. Just usually try to keep the boat as far away as possible.

And yes I weighed all 3 on a mechanical scale. I checked it for accuracy when I got home with known weights to be sure and it was right on.

Half is an exaggeration. They are quality fish, I would have put the big one around 6-7. Small one looks around 4 but whatever. I have caught bass over 10lbs on Falcon. They looked much bigger than the 9 he posted. But either way great night of fishing. Congrats looks like he had blast. One of my best fishing ever was a night on Fayette County Lake here in Texas. Just got in a school of 3-6 pound bass. Caught 20 in a 30 minute period and then it stopped. Its hard to beat a night of fishing.
