This guy takes a .50 cal deer hunting and kills a deer. Only he didn't hit it with the round. He went for a headshot and missed, but the vacuum created from the velocity of the the round passing near the head was enough to kill the deer instantly. Pretty insane.

He 100% hit it with the round. Demolition Ranch tested that myth by shooting a 50 cal through a pyramid stack of solo cups and a house of playing cards. They didn't even move

He may have. I'm just going off of what the video says. Idk if you watched the whole thing but he comes back at the end and says they confirmed he didn't touch it.

That's up for debate. It gives me a weird feeling in my stomach to watch it, but at the same time it's a clean and instant kill. Better than hitting one and letting it run off and die slowly.

Ya, he definitely hit the deer. As said above, Demo ranch tested that myth and proved it wrong

Why would you shoot an animal in the head with a .50 bmg? Neck sure why not, but aiming for the head is just being a piece of shite.

You need me to explain why aiming for the head is just as shitty with a .50 bmg as it is with a 30-06?

A 100% ethical kill is not okay with you.

Do you incorrectly believe that a neck kill is better than a good head shot?

What a douche. I am completely unconvinced that he was truly trying to get a "headshot".

A lot of folks don't like the head shot because there's such a small margin for error. A miss to the jaw can cause the deer to starve to death

Paraphrasing "we confirmed by dissecting, really really checking etc. the deer" and the bullet didn't hit it..... So you can film the hunt, replay it 6000x times but not show said confirmation? Go fricke yourself. Bullet hit. A vacuum isn't killing shite.

Oh this piece of skull/skin/biologic material? Ignore that. "vacuum" sucked out the eyeballs.

These same people are 100% ignorant that a bad neck shot can occur too. They think that neck = 100% dead. They play too many video games.

They just wanted the deer's head to explode. Their sick idea didn't go as planned. Rather than waste the footage they doubled down on stupid and came up with the vacuum story.

That guy is a loser.

Physics calls bullshite on this. At supersonic velocities, there is no vacuum nomal to the path of the bullet. Air is compressed in front of that bullet and the sudden re-expansion of that air is causes the "crack" of the bullet as it passes by. The only vacuum is the area directly behind the base on the bullet, that is why good bullets are boat-tailed, to minimize the area upon which this vacuum interacts. Modern military artillery shells use extra propellant in the shell to base bleed into this area and mitigate the vacuum to extend range.

I'm so conflicted. I used to watch Kieth Warren outdoors as a kid and thought he was cool. I feel betrayed. I remember him not being a douche.
