After reading this thread, the only thing I want to do is to shoot a .50 Barrett even more. At anything, like a paper target

I was very close to buying one a while back. Found a very clean M82 with a Leupold Mk 4 14x scope for $6,000. Only problem was that I could buy the rifle then just look at it since no range within 3 hours driving would allow a .50 BMG.

About $5/rd for Federal American Eagle when I was looking. It costs more to reload for .338 Lapua than it does for .50 BMG.

I've shot a .338 Win and was impressed at the recoil but it was me half crouch leaning on a rail on a dock. I was in a bad position to shoot. It was a hell of a recoil because I was in a terrible firing position

.50 BMG is not bad. Has more of a strong 12ga push than anything else. Kinda like shooting a Desert Eagle in .50 AE, it's not the recoil as much as the muzzle blast.

Huge douche no doubt.. Ive never wanted to shoot a deer with a .50 cal rifle. Even if its ethical.
