Gunmaker Smith & Wesson to change name

No shite. The S&W 29, 27, 686, Registered Magnum. Long line of some really great wheel guns. They let their quality control slip from time to time but to give up all that brand loyalty and recognition just seems dumb. They appear to be moving into the plastics market, which is also an overcrowded field and they just got dumped by the US Military handgun search. This might be the most beautiful hand gun ever manufactured:

Similar to Philip Morris changing its to Altria after all the tobacco lawsuits years ago. The new name does not sound so "gunnish" for all of the anti fire arms types.

They just changed the name of the holding corporation. They own all kinds of stuff and it makes sense from a business perspective. I think they just bought Crimson Trace as a matter of fact.
Maybe they will have the same fabulous success as Freedom Group.
