I'm looking at purchasing a gun through Buds but would have to transfer it to a local dealer. Buds doesn't include tax for some reason. Does the dealer add both the transfer fee and sales tax on top of what I paid from Buds?

No. Dealer just charges their transfer fee that ranges from $10 to $40.

Although $10 is probably not going to be found anymore around Baton Rouge

Do you have a recommended place? I'm looking at FRC but they're $35.

Buds has a FFL dealer search on their website. It usually lists what the FFL charges. My guy charges $20

I used Pelican Pawn with Buds in Gonzales. I think they have locations in Baton Rouge and Denham Springs too. The fee was ~$25. Easy transaction.

Someone on here recommended LA Guns on Old Jefferson and it was great last time I used them.

I know you want the best price but you do realize Buds is ruining the business I hope? If dealers are expected to make $20 per gun that you order online, how long do you think they can run a business? Before long, there aren’t going to be any gunstores. Just some lonely FFL in some box office processing transfers for $20 a pop.

Then dealers should get their prices down to buds level. Buds doesn’t manufacture the guns. They buy them too.

But that’s not fair.

Most of the online gun sellers are somebody's local gun store. Any local gun store can set up shop online if their State allows it.

The guy I use will do FFL transfers all day. I think he said he makes more doing that than selling guns which he does alot of also.
