Old retired Mississippi Gamewarden that has a soft heart these days. The older l get the more tender hearted l get. Did you know doves take a partner for life. When one dove get shot the mate will keep coming back searching for it's mate. Most the time getting killed it's self. As l held this beautiful dove with so much blue color in it l thought about it's mate flying off and coming back many times. We as hunters should respect and never abuse God's creation. Nothing angered me more as a gamewarden than to see a animal abused. I don't care if it was a hog. Don't prolong the animals suffering just so you can watch your dogs torture it. If you wound a dove don't just sit there and wait to go get it so you can get another shot. Dispatch the wounded one as fast as possible. I truely believe God will hold us accountable. The Bible says He knows every sparrow that falls.
