Any reports this week from Grand Isle - Wondering if trout on the beaches yet. Know the winds been howling... Making a trip next weeked (5/29) and trying to game plan.

If they are there then hopefully word doesn’t get out. I have a trip planned for the last week in May. It’s always fun getting on them before the whole state shows up

I heard they was catching last week on Timbalier. I’d expect they are on the beaches in GI.

Same. Those are usually automatic.

I was there last few days. Wind and dirty water. Found enough to cook and that was about it. Forecast is complete shite for a while it seems.

Gonna be tough going until that sun heats up in the high 80s and burns off the winds. Otherwise these little cool dips will keep the winds up and the water dirty

The only thing holding it up is this wind. If we get a few days of low wind to let the water clear up, get ready

Waited for wind to die down, got out this morning around 8:00 to fish various spots in Barataria. Best spot was near Hackberry. caught 70, put 26 in the box. Dozen gafftop.
Fried them tonight, absolute dellishoes (iykyk).

I went yesterday Saturday. Kayak fished the rocks in the back bay live shrimp under a cork and on the bottom. Only 3 keepers and a throwback 17” redfish. Not much tide range. I usually do a lot better. Water dirty. All the kayakers I talked to along the way fishing plastic only caught under sized. Alot of catfish to deal with. Terry,s in Leeville and Bridgeside both had live shrimp.

I like to launch before the gate on elmers real early and hit caminada from that route. Few trips in been guided across that little bay by moonlight and porpoise traveling along side. Trolling motor full throttle
