Everyone calling to see if the shrimp are still running. I believe bridge side is open according to their Facebook.

Yes they are all open. Grand Isle marina doesn’t have live bait yet. I was there this weekend. They are still installing the new live well tanks and pump systems. The marina is nice with lots of picnic tables underneath in the shade.

I believe bridgeside has live bait.

Let us know how you do with the mangroves. We caught a few in April while we were fishing for sheepshead off of fourchon.

I'll probably just cast net and sabiki rig for bait. Idk, really don't have a solid plan. All depends on what the weather does. All these little yellow storms all over the map are pissing me off.

Bridgeside is up and running. They have live shrimp most of the time. Wakeside is supposed to open up this weekend. Still have alot of work going on with rebuilding. I've been there every weekend going on 4 weeks now. I'm one of the guys that you see in the video catch all the shrimp couple of weekends ago. I started it off.

If you were in those videos catching 30-40#’s of shrimp per throw, I want to go on record saying how much I hate you. Lol

(pure jealousy)

Yes that was me in the LSU shorts. I was filling up 48 quart in 1 throw with a 8 foot net. It was insane. The kids was throwing 3 foot nets a catching 5 -10 pounds.

Store was closed today but they had a drop box for launch fee. Was fine to launch their.

We didn't catch shite though. Decided we weren't messing with live bait. Caught a jack on a mullet, a big arse blacktip, a small blacktip, a bull shark on a top dog, a manta ray on a DOA scrimp. It was a screwed up trip

There were about a dozen boats around bridgeside, probably drowning shrimp. Didn't see any of them catch much.

I’m hauling down my camper for the summer tomorrow and gonna try the surf after we get done setting up. Hopefully we can find a few to fry up fresh.

We’ve been catching fish to the north, northeast, and east of Grand Isle. Fishing platforms to the N and NE and fishing beaches E of GI. Haven’t seen many people at all catching trout on the beaches of GI.

Same pattern to the west, too. Timbalier, Raccourci, and Terrebone platforms are all holding fish.

Man that was my last spec fishing trip to GI this year. I do it once every year, cannonball down to wakeside and chase birds / drown shrimp / bouce rigs etc and generally don't catch shite. I suck arse at speck fishing and I'm glad I got it out of my system early this year.

Spent like 4 hours ~12 miles out trying some new artifical baits for mangroves but it didn't pan out. I'm bent on figuring out how to catch mangroves on something besides live bait.
