What's ridiculous is that they think people are concerned about the "tax" part. No one really cares about that. Tax my suppressor for $200, but let me be able to buy it off the shelf at Academy without all the other bullshite.

Sorry man, I can’t abide a $200 tax on a $350 suppressor

I mean I don’t like taxes on a lot of shite. But the tax part of it is the least of most people’s worries. Ridiculous approval times and registering it (and then having it be a PITA to transfer or even put it in your will) are much much bigger issues than a damn tax.

This delay can’t be a good thing. Guessing the parliamentarian will shut it down and they’ll modify the language to remove the tax but not the registration requirement.

That’s what I’m thinking. And the next time a reconciliation bill comes around with a D congress/administation, that tax will be $1000 or more.

ETA: however, the whole point for the registration is it being proof that the tax was paid. If there’s no tax, why the need for a registration? That’s the supposed argument that was made.

I have no doubt she is going to screw us gun owners, she is a Washington liberal lawyer. I also fully expect for Thune to be ok with her decision. Hope I'm wrong but I bet I'm not.
