Selling that land is insane. But I'd also like to know where it is located. If it's good for nothing but oil and energy production, then there is actually an argument you can make to get it out of the govmt's hands so tla future admin can't block it from being used.

On the other hand, the US is so beautiful and a wildlife paradise because of all the federal lands Teddy Roosevelt helped preserve.l and keep put of the hands of the leeches like Blackrock.

Regardless, losing public land is not a good thing.

I understand in principle but who gets to decide what is “good for nothing?”

Some DC airhead that sees a barren 160ac sage flat but doesn’t see the mule deer bedded in the shade in a gulch or the antelope bedded just over the hill?

I know what you’re saying but I don’t want anyone determining what is useful and not

the senate manager or parliamentarian will be going through all of the amendments to make sure each one falls within the Byrd Rule, which is:

The "Byrd Bath" started over the weekend and continues on today. Full Senate vote will be held at the latest this Friday from what I'm reading/hearing.

here's an example of the Byrd Bath...

ATF will not merge with the DEA. Parliamentarian killed it due to it not being a budget item:

The parliamentarian rejected a section of the bill requiring the Interior secretary to permit the construction of Ambler Road, a 211-mile access road that would facilitate the development of four large mines in northern Alaska and hundreds of smaller mines in the region.

She also ruled against language in the bill to mandate the sale of millions of acres of federal public land by the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service.

MacDonough said these provisions do not comply with the Senate’s Byrd Rule and therefore are not eligible to pass the upper chamber with a simple-majority vote. Sections of the bill found to violate the Byrd Rule need 60 votes to overcome a point-of-order objection.

I also included the paragraph about Ambler Road, which I'm glad to see has been stopped for the time being also

The Jerckoff (Mike Lee) is currently rewriting his land sale proposal. I would not assume that it's dead. He will try to re-frame it

Selling national forest land is basically treason in my book.
