A problem we’d rather deal with. I’m very happy to see this. Guys like Diligent Defense were already too busy and have trouble scaling up production.
This bill will only drive down the costs of suppressors over time.

1000%! I’d assume more manufactures will start producing them if they don’t have to mess with all the NFA BS. Would that mean all of the “oil filter kits” will be legal?

Yea but just wait until mossberg and savage and PSA can start selling them OTC. Prices will plummet

i won't be pissed, but i will be annoyed if SBRs and SBSs get added in the Senate. i literally just submitted 2 Form 1s last month that got approved.

With every story like this, our odds of passing get better and better!

if it passes does it mean I'll be able to 3-d print a can for my 22 at the library?

I took advantage of the ATFs attempt on braces and SBRed the 11 I wanted for free but I would feel the need to build a few more if they were off the NFA.

Exactly

So, where's the best place to get a .338 barrel threaded in BR/Gonzales area?

Hope it passes BUT I'd be surprised if the tax is removed. That is Millions and Millions of dollars every year of easy money for the feds. Hard to give up money once you have it.

If this gets through the senate, I suspect almost every major gun manufacturer will also start making suppressors. One, they can sell them as a package deal, and two, this would be a windfall for them since the gun market is pretty stagnant right now and will be over the next 2-3 yrs.
It would even work across all sects of the gun world. Hunters and tactical shooters alike would buy them. And every box store like Academy and Bass Pro would have them in the shelves next to the weapons.
Yes, this will largely kill specialty ships like Silencer Central and Silencer Shop and it will put incredible demand on current manufacturers, but you're also going to get 100 new manufacturers enter the market. Also, major players like B&T, Silencer Co, etc would tool up big time to up their current production because the investment would be a sure thing.
It will take a decade or more to saturate that market. It will be just like the post AWB AR market boom.

That would be awesome!

I bet there would be a swath of integrally suppressed barrels from both gun manufactures and the stand alone barrel companies as well. Would be pretty legit...

The whole SBR thing also would not be that huge of a deal anymore because integrally suppressed 10-12" barrels could hit 14.5 with ease.

I’d imagine gun manufacturing will offer integrally suppressed rifles. I’m sure most of them are, or already have, designs cooked up, just waiting for the nfa removal.
Now I have to explain to the wife why I need all new, suppressed barrel, rifles to replace all my current collection
It’s a very fun time that I hope includes sbr’s, but I’m soaking up the suppressor victory all on its own.

If this does pass, when would it take effect?
Fingers crossed. Been holding off buying one the last couple of months.

Word is 90-days after it’s enacted/signed by the president… so around September.
