Yep, same here. Bought mine back in the 80's. Back when you could go into the sporting goods store, open up the box and give the call a try before you bought it....Might sound nasty or "unsanitary" these days, but that's how it was.
Mine might be that same model, maybe not. I know it's an olive green color but any kind of molded on identification is worn off now. I think they might have had 2 or 3 models of Duck Commanders back then. A raspy "cut down" version and a long reaching squealing version. Not sure if or what the 3rd one would have been. Didn't have all of these specialty calls like now....And we had 10 duck "limits"....Who remembers those? (Note, I said remembers, not has heard stories about them!)

Sounds like I need to get my paws on one.
Good luck finding an unfricked up one.
Lots of green made the fatal mistake of locking in on a cut down Olt in Wham and Black Bayou.
On a sidenote, I still blow a pre-DD Commander in the woods.

Assuming you are asking about the keyhole call...
LOUD. You can get extreme range with those cut down - keyhole style calls.
I dont have the lung capacity to blow one...

PS Olt now makes the keyhole call again. Just spoke to the gentleman on the phone. Ordered one and he is shipping today. If you want one order today and he will ship today if not he is going deer hunting and will not be shipping any again for a week and a half.

Seriously did not know they were that much. Frick.

Thanks yeah that's what I was curious about.
That could be beneficial to me when the idiots I hunt around start calling at birds I'm working. Hunt open water. The struggle is real

Theres a few companies now that will sell you their rendition of the D-2 that is already cut. Don't know if the Olt that the current P.S. Olt sells is cut or not, but I'm sure you Northeast LA guys have a few people that will cut one down for you. Black Ops duck calls, Kirk Mccullough, and a few others started making similar calls before P.S. Olt started making the hard rubber D-2 keyhole again

Yeah, long story short I did some investigating on this a couple years ago. I talked to the Black Ops guys on some recommendations and they had discontinued their cut down D-2 that was supposedly being cut by Kirk Mccullough (at least I think it was them). Apparently they went separate ways. They make some pretty good calls which I am finally about to purchase to try out. I think this new Olt is a different make than the classic keyhole. I've even seen an Omar Driskill series call which shocks me given I know Omar and could tell you some interesting stories about him from back in the day. Some of you NE LA boys probably know him well.
