I like carrying my Kahr cm9 more than my g19 iwb. As others have stated the need to have extra rounds so far has not been needed but hours and hours of carrying a double stack wears on you. I have tried numerous IWB holsters but adding just the extra rounds and the added width is definitely noticeable.
Don’t get me wrong I like knowing I have the g19 and a spare mag sometimes but when I take them off and wear the cm9 or the wife’s g43 It’s like going from compression underwear to boxers!!!
My next gun will probably be the g43x with a spare mag.

This is why I often carry a snubnose revolver. It’s not even noticeable IWB. I am fine with having just 5 bullets.

If you follow that logic you'd never buy or carry a firearm.

You get the extra ammo capacity for the same reason you carry a handgun --- JIC.

But what do I know - I'm still trying to wrap my head around the 2mm difference in grip thickness that somebody posted about.

Asking what someone's "favorite" or "preference" is, isn't fair to you. Everyone's different - balance of sufficient caliber, that fits the hand, can be controlled and operated, is comfortable to carry and of a size that can be easily concealed.

At the end of the day, the best gun for concealed carry is the one that you will carry. It is the gun that is comfortable enough that you will practice with it. That you can control. One that you can operate. Can you reach the slide lock, operate the safety, pull back the slide, cock and decock safely, load and unload? Does it fit your hand? Can you shoot it without feeling like you need to readjust your grip? If you are considering buying a gun, it helps to find someone who has one and see if they will let you shoot it.

Test guns without being a name whore. Blindly test several guns without looking at the names and rate them based on everything. You may surprise yourself on your choice.

Grip thickness doesn't matter, it's the slide that counts for IWB. You'll just have to try it and see, but on paper the difference between an M&P and a Shield isn't much, but stuff them in my waistband and it's huge. I have a small waist, so if you're a bigger guy the difference won't be as noticeable.

I have the 43 with the Foxx Deluxe Trapp IWB all Kydex holster. Do what you are comfortable with. My set up may not be the best choice for everybody, but, at the end of the day it is all about what you are most comfortable with.

All this is important. But none of it comes close to the importance of buying the most reliable (statistically) handgun you can find.

A little research into what the various state police units carry, or the FBI, can add a lot of info about reliability. (The FBI is a really good source since they wear plainclothes, and several agents are accosted every year).

not really...one round (maybe two) is the most anyone will ever squeeze off in the extremely unlikely case that the gun is ever drawn and fired. What’s important is that it’s comfortable to carry, and single stack is more comfortable to me. I don’t care about the extra rounds because I know that if I do have to draw, I’d better make the first round count

I carry a P229, OWB mostly but IWB occasionally. You can stuff anything inside your waistband if your pants and belt are big enough.

I bought a beltman bullhide with internal stiffener and it makes carrying the big gun nearly effortless.

Moral of the story- get the smallest gun you can tolerate if you dont plan to change your dress code. Get whatever tickles your pickle if you do plan to change your dress code.

I have a 43X

But I always grab my Ruger EC9 in a Sticky Holster with a rubber grip sleeve thing.

It’s not impossible but I agree it’s hard to imagine needing more capacity than a single stack. I think likelier that a person will wear the slimmer/lighter single stack more often than the double stack.

Just my opinion but a glock 19 with bravo IWB holster is tough to beat.

I have both and carry the 43 IWB 98% of the time. The 26 is more enjoyable to shoot but it's a little thicker in the belt.

I have both, and the 26 now stays at my in-laws house out of state so I do not have to bother checking it at the airport. After carrying the 26 for years, the 43 feels like it is half the size and width.
