An AK would likely pass that test with flying colors but and AR has no chance.
It's all about tolerances. P226 has tighter tolerances.
It's one of the best pistols ever designed. There is no argument about that, period.

An argument I've heard made is a gun with more loose tolerances can be more reliable than one with tight tolerances (Glock vs 1911). I think that is model specific though

Not what you need but what you want since its fine right out of the box but:
1. 3.5 ghost connector will make the trigger pull lighter and smoother;
2. swap out the plastic sights for some metal night sights;
3. put an extended take down lever (this was 100% necessary for me and only costs $10); and
4. an extended slide release (not necessary for me); and
5. Metal guide rod for some added weight and recoil absorption (obviously you don't want in a carry gun).
All but no. 2 can be done by you quite easily. You may not want that lighter pull or added weight on a carry piece though. Go do no. 3 right now.

I recentky bought a P320 compact. I like it so much I sold my G19 and G26 and picked up a P320 sub to replace the G26. The stock trigger is fantastic, the grip angle is so much better than the Glock (at least for me) and super accurate right out of the box.

Hard to beat a Glock G19 but I love my VP9. Between those two is mostly minutia as you can't go wrong with either one.

I posted pics of the size comp between the three, I'm a glock fan boy but the VP9 does a lot right.
