I use Lowrance AT so no help there but for mapping LA1 card is the best. If you need contours Navionics would be next.

Gain 50-60
Color Gain 90-100
Get in the water and play with the LS. Learn to find your lure in the cone. Try different color schemes to find what best fits your eyes. I started with amber and switched to black emerald.

There's a guy on YouTube called the "Livescope Guru" that's from Louisiana. He's the most popular ffs guy on the internet and stays posting educational videos on the settings, updates, etc..

My main settings are amber, gain in the 60s, ghost off, and try noise reduction as low as possible with your gain in the 60s. I also get the best picture with it kept at 20ish ft of depth even in 5ft.

Only reason for a memory card is for the future updates to the box, graph, and transducer

Has anyone used it for Gators? Would be awesome use to locate them.

My luck, I'll get one just in time for them to be banned.

You can't just set it and forget. Learn what the actual settings do. You can be on the same body of water and a different day you might need to adjust. Go out on the water with no intentions on fishing after you learn the settings and bring one pole with a big bait. Learn how to find your bait first. Get an idea of depth and angles to cast. Then the rest will come to you

I rarely have to change anything other than depth or range. I get the gain up to where it starts getting cloudy then use color limit to clean it up. Even my 1/32 oz jigs pop. I also use a swivel to get a double image which helps.

You screen watcher baws are getting real close to just buying fish from the store.

Change depth manually. I prefer the red color palette, but a lot of people use green. I run my sensitivity pretty hi (75-85). If I’m searching for fish In open water I have my range out to about 90. When I’m in timber etc, I’ll have on 65-75.

I'm assuming you fish from a canoe, paddled around, and you use string to catch fish handlining.

basically, I do use a “bait caster” but I’ve never owned an electronic gizmo outside of a trolling motor.

It’s the truth, downvoter.

I did this very thing with my SIL last summer on Elk River, as I stopped in AL to visit my mom.

Had no poles with us, but she had an old tackle box of mine and my canoe. Nothing but perch and fighting the current, but still a fun day.

What others have said. I just bought a new to me Triton bass boat with it. Once you figure out the orientation of the transducer, the rest seems pretty straight forward. Although I haven't been able to get the best picture on my garmin unit. I think a lot has to do with everything being on my cranking battery.

I have done this on an AGM and now lithium, and have had no problems. If your voltage is low, you may need to refresh your wiring.

This. Not enough wire to carry the amps.
