Found this tree walking to a stand location on my cousin's lease. Tree resembles a pecan but with more trunks, leaves resemble pecan as well. We were walking quick so wasn't able to snap pic of tree
About the size of a tennis ball. Not quite as hard as an apple and juice stains your hand

Looks like an unripened black walnut.

According to one of my professors at LSU...only 2 animals in North America can crack a Black Walnut, squirrel and hog.

Chandler what area do you live?

when they fall, gather them up and drive over them a few times on a concrete driveway with your truck. that will get the husk off, and then you can crack the nut with a hammer
its worth it

The soft husk, roots, leaves and wood all contain juglone. It is a chemical similar to rotenone and is highly toxic to fish and many plants. Black walnut trees effectively limit their completion for soil and sunlight by preventing the growth of other plants near them.
the black brown substance found in the husks is an organic iodine and can be used as an antiseptic and as insect repellent.
really cool trees.
(only drive over them on your neighbors driveway as the aforementioned substance will stain concrete.)

The best gunstock blanks come from walnut. Quality wood can be very expensive.

And NEVER use walnut sawdust or chips in a horse's stall. It will really mess up their feet.
