Looking to get my oldest nephew a new turkey setup. Anyone have any experience with the Franchi Affinity 3 turkey or the Franchi Affinity 3 turkey Elite? I really like the Elite but don't know if it's worth the extra money?

I’ve looked at all types of the Franchi shotguns and I love all of them. I’ve never purchased one, regrettably.

cycling issues reported on the internet and a buddy of mine has one and agrees.

I have the affinity 3.5 waterfowl edition and it has never given me an issue. Cycles everything from light dove loads to 3.5". Know several people that have the affinity and have similar opinions as me of it.

Tell me more about the “Benelli click”

I also agree about this issue with my Franchi.
My action bar has been brought to a couple different gun shops and they both said same thing. Can’t be fixed and can’t get part from franchi. Only option is find one that has a good action bar but something else wrong with it and combine the two

That is the only problem my sbe3 doesnt have. It does shoot about a 100/0 with a pattern master at about 40 yards
The click isnt a big deal if you are aware of it and my 3 doesnt do it.

I have an SBE #1 purchased from Village Sports in the Mecca circa 2000 and have never heard of this “click!”
As I’m walking out the door with it the old bald guy that worked the gun counter reminded me one last time “that gun won’t shoot light loads!”
About 75 light load cases later….still works like a charm!

My dad has a two and the first season I hunted ducks with it, going from the old trusty rusty 870 it did do the click on me and I missed out on some sprigs lighting in the decoys. But once I figured out what it was it was never a problem with that gun, and the 3 really doesnt do it, it just shoots high but I put a giant hi viz on it and im gonna try to shim it again and pattern it during the split, if not im gonna tighten the nut on the magazine tube and see if that really affects it.
I can see why it would be an issue for turkeys thought but if I turkey hunted id probably still just let it slide into battery on its own.
I have heard nothing but good things about the Franchi affinity 3 and 3.5, and no issues from buddies with them shooting light and heavy loads mixed up. The benellis have 0 problem with it. It will only sometimes cycle shooting it upside down over my head though.

Thinking about a 20ga O/U for my little one

I know they are known for shotguns but does anyone have any experience with their bolt action rifles?

I have a 12 and two 20s. All have been perfect and cycle everything from low brass skeet shells to 3.5" goose loads. They're very light-which I like and they shoulder well for me.

Benelli and Franchi have 2 piece bolts like an AR.
When the bsg moves forward the bolt enters the chamber, rotates and locks in the chamber.
The bcg can be pulled back to where the bolt is still in the chamber but getting ready to rotate.
If it's in this position it will not fire but the hammer will fall and you get the click. If you push the bolt handle forward it will fully seat in the correct position.

Benelli?
Not hardly, unless your criteria for a shotgun is only that it go bang.
