I kept bass to eat yesterday Went Sunday on Toledo white perch fishing and caught several bass and threw them back. Yesterday wife went to Walmarks and for first time was freaked out due to nothing being on shelves. We went fishing again yesterday and didn’t cull anything. Come at me

Gotta be honest, I have never eaten a bass, but always think about it when I catch them in the marsh. What do they compare to, edibility wise?

Fresh bass is every bit as good as bream and only slightly below sac-au-lait. When fried side by side you'd have a hard time distinguishing.

When I blacken them in a skillet with butter and seasonings to make tacos... I don’t ask for forgiveness I praise thanks. Lol

The big ones taste the same as the little ones.

a marsh bass is even tastier. I fried up a few last night and they were yummy. I just throw back the big ones and small ones, if 1-2 pounds, I'll keep a few for some nice filets.

I’ve eaten piles of bass. Fried blackened or just seasoned up and on the grill. Very mild flaky

Way better than wormy speckled trout. Not sure on the eggs though. Had a big pile of bass eggs the other day we donated to the gators. Should have fried some to see how they tasted.

I never thought bass was great. I know people love them. Sacalait on the other hand I love.

Don't, as I recall they'll pop and sling hot grease everywhere.

Back when TV started showing fishing shows, my Grandfather couldn't understand why the fishermen would throw back the bass.
