I am looking at a 2011 F150 4x4 that has the V6 engine. Anyone have any experience with that particular package? I am a little hesitant about getting a 4x4 without a V8. Any opinion on that?

They make two V6 for the F150. Both have been beaten more than Arkansas in championship games.

A V6 has no place in a full size truck.

Just bought a 2013 with the ecoboost, no complaints so far. Tons of power and I get 18 or 19 mpg going 80 on the interstate.

A straight 6 does though.

From all the reviews, it looks like a solid engine. Two things concern me though.

1. there is no reliable long term data on the EcoBoost engine yet. How are those turbos going to be say 5 years from now? Repaires are going to be high cost.
2. With current incentives, you are paying $1500 extra for the V6 instead of the 5.0L V8 for just a bit better economy and horsepower. I'm going with the 5.0 for now. I'll let the EcoBoost get a few more years under the belt before I get one. JMO

Ford just did a big recall on all the ecoboost equipped F-150's.

Link X2

Tiger stripes, you may get that good of MPG but you are missing about 30hp and 70tq. That's Obama motors for you.

Eta: you are actually missing lots more hp and TQ but the numbers I quoted are conservative. So pretend you did all the fun high school bolt on mods and then my top statement is true.

1) You also have 45 less HP and 105 fewer Ft/Lbs of torque.
2) You really get that MPG with a 4x4? My Yukon 4x4 gets about 15 highway, 12 city.

Do you know the difference between a bailout and a loan?

I just bought a house with a loan. Are you telling me that I took a bailout? Don't be cheesy.
