What are you guys using for flea prevention on your dogs? Have a golden and a mutt that are inside/outside. Was using trifexus but it’s expensive. How well does frontline work? Any other options out there?

Bravecto Blue
Works very good.
None of my dogs ever scratch themselves.
1 chewable every 3 months
ETA: Just looked up Trifexis and it comes in a 6 month supply. Basically paying the same price as bravecto because it only comes in 3, but it is very much worth it.

Bravecto
I buy mine from pet-i-supply dot com. About 30 to 40 % less than your Veterinarian or Chewy.
Takes about two weeks to get in.

I use Bravecto for my two dogs, there is always a rebate if you don't mind dealing with that process.

We use Comfortis. We buy a higher weight dosage and split the tablet in half (i.e. 40# tablet cut in half for 20# dog). Never had an issue with fleas.

Save yourself a fortune. Get a bottle of ivermectin. I get mine at tractor supply Co. Give .1ml per lb of body weight with food. Very important to dose correctly & give monthly on a set schedule. DON'T OVERDOSE.

Frontline when I trained, ready the directions and get two months for fleas. Says monthly for fleas and ticks but most folks never read the directions. Don’t have many ticks down in south La where I live but your mileage may vary.

Get a bottle of ivermectin
Does nothing for fleas, which is what the OP asked about
I've used Nexguard in the past with good results (once a month protects against fleas and ticks). I'm now using a Seresto collar and it's effective as well. We live in the woods, my dog runs through fields etc, and no fleas on her with either of these treatments. I sometimes see ticks, but they are dead or dying, not attached.
Regardless of what you choose, buy from a reputable shop or the manufacturer itself. When we hear of things not working, or potentially causing harm, 90+ percent of the time they are bought from some discount store and are counterfeits.

Ivermectin, or "sheep drench" is for heartworms, not fleas.

Trifexis is the only thing that works for my lab.
