Been thinking of getting some new gear and Firstlite is running a sale. Anyone have some of there gear? Need something lightweight for early October western hunts.

I have the Catalyst pants, they are great. I also have the Woodbury jacket, but it's more of a whitetail jacket, not lightweight. First Lite is fantastic, I would say one notch above my Kuiu stuff.

I have the woodbury as well, I like it. Wish the outer material was a little more robust.

Think of getting the Guide jacket and obsidian pants.

I have KUIU zip off bottoms and I can't wear non-zip off now because of it. It is the most convenient, quickest way to dress and undress with the weather changes or long walks.

obsidian pants.

I think the knock on these is they don’t hold up well to walking through brush, but are good for whitetails. I have the guide lite and catalyst pants and both are awesome.

I use the woodbury jacket and the bibs during cold weather. Those things are a furnace. I pack them in because I'd sweat my rear end off if I wore them while walking. Real quiet also. Don't wear them in briers.

I have to corrugate guide pants. Really like the feel of them. Unsure of durability yet but they feel great. I like my kuiu attack pants better though. Obsidian pants were on the radar but opted for the corrugate. Thing that sucks for me about FL pants is that im in between sizes. Size 36 waits and the medium fit but kinda snug and the large fall off of me. So im wearing corrugate pants early and attack later on. And the lengths are kinda long out of the pack where kuiu comes in short inseams.

I have several different base layers and aerowool hoody, I love the base layers. Not itchy at all. Perform great. Especially with the new zip layers they are a must i believe.

As far as jacket, the only jacket i had was solitude jacket and bibs. This is designed for treestand hunting and the wind cut right through the bibs like butter. The jacket felt a little bulky but the material is super quiet. Not sure of temps but the catalyst is the same material and its nice material for sure but be aware it will not cut wind at all. Corrugate guide is more durable but louder.

With companies making so much shite its hard to find what you need sometimes. Not sure how active you will be. I love Fusion camo patter better than anything, but ive found that sitka seems to be better than FL. Mix in a few Kuiu pieces and its nice. I just hate how high Kuiu put the pockets on their jackets (I have the axis hybrid) and if u have a gut at all it will be tight.

If i were going id wear some combination along these lines
FL--base layers
Sitka- mountain jacket/ mountain pants
Kuiu-attack pants and axis gloves/jacket

I have the Catalyst jacket and it's probably my favorite piece of hunting gear. I also have one of the merino hoodies which is my go-to base layer. Highly recommend

Alos picked up a pair of pants at Field and Stream, I think the Corruagtes. They're very comfortable but do not offer much warmth at all, more of a early season Elk pant which is what they'll be used for.

I agree. I bought the KUIU zip off's last year and I have used them way more than I thought I would.elk, deer, early spring fishing, turkey, hiking. They have gotten much more use than I thought they would. Excellent buy.

I own almost everything first lite makes. Wearing the wick hoody right now.

You won’t go wrong with anything you get.

I have quite a few of their piece. I love the wick stuff for hot weather. I use it for early season, dove hunting, etc.

I have a couple old midweight shirts (Chamas, what is now the Kiln). I usually wear one of these every deer hunt either as a single layer or as a base layer. I have the Corrugate Guide jacket and Pants. Love the Pants, but the jacket was a little disappointing at first because it doesn't offer much warmth, so I use it more as a shell piece. I have a pair of Obsidian pants that are super comfortable but definitely not durable. I wouldn't wear them if I had to bust brush.

I have a Woodbury jacket and Sanctuary Bibs for when it gets cold. I can't wear these and walk to the stand so I usually carry them in and put them on when I get to the stand.

Damn. Maybe they will let me return them. I ordered another pair of NOMAD pants I found on clearance.

you should be able to. I have read a lot of reviews where the crotch wore out of the Obsidians when logging a lot of miles in them. Sucks, because they are great pants, but I wouldn't spend full price on them. I'll wear mine when I'm just going to sit in a stand.

I already have more pants than I need for stand hunting. Need something that can take a weeks long backpack hunt and lots of miles.

Guess I will look at Kuiu
