No problem, I'd be glad to help. My saw is a 16". I think I can cut right under 6". If that doesn't work, you could buy an 18" blade and I can take my guard off.

No, I can redraw it and kick it out some. Between 5 1/4 and 5 1/2 still looks pretty good. U see that and it kind of loses the look. I sure appreciate it. That's some pretty major equipment you have over there.

Or, cut half on one side and half on the other. There is a margin of error and possibly a lot of sanding to do, but its doable.

You mark your angles and set the saw up (I can show you how to do this) and I'll make the cuts. So basically you are doing all the work minus maybe losing a finger or two.

I wouldn't worry about hijacking this thread, its played out.

I'll make a set of plans for 5 1/2 amd one for 5 1/4. If we can get one of those in a single pass, that would be perfect.

Sounds good to me, I've grown attached to my digits.

Id like to see you get exactly what you originally wanted. Ill measure the depth of cut my saw can handle when i get beck to the shop in a few days. And, we can always just cut one side and then flip the board to cut the other side.

There are many ways to skin a cat. On the bandsaw with an angle jig is another option.

guys...my evening entertainment was watching people blow up in this thread...

you've totally ruined it for me...

it's like...pulling up on someone while they are catching fish and putting the fish down...

You know, I like making fun of golfers on the MSB for sounding like a bunch of pussies, but damn this thread is sad

With a jig, yes. I have a 36" bandsaw with tons of tension and a 2" blade. It will track straight, for the most part, along with a little luck.

You must not really fish then. There is so much freaking water out there, stay the frick away from me and my spots. And don't block the entrances to my spots and get pissed when I troll past you. I will let you know how I feel and I don't care that your wife is with you. she needs to know you suck at fishing.

Starting to have to worry about it in redfish ponds too, especially with the growing popularity of tower boats and skiffs.

and the damn mud motors. we had 8 reds in the boat within an hour in one pond then here comes yahoo with his mud motor about 75-80yds away putting along staring. we were just looking at him and he waved i did one of these then he gives it gas and takes off. frickers have trolling motors on them and aren't even smart enough to use them.... will frick up a pond in a heart beat.

I've been on both ends of this frustration.

Being relatively new to salt fishing and maneuvering a bay boat in wind and currents, I've let my boat get too close to other fishermen. As time has passed, I've gotten better.

I've also had folks pull up on me, seemingly out in the middle of nowhere.

At the time, it can be frustrating... but what the hey?

The way I look at it, if I was there first and can put a soft plastic in their boat they are too close. Then the dumb arse won't catch anything on the first cast and MOTOR off.

I fished Toledo during a Big Bass Splash. I had preregistered and our BASS boat ended up going to Lake Pickwick to prefish for another tournament.Long story short... ended up having to anchor off and camp out on main lake humps and points to be able to fish effectively. Had numerous bass boats motor through the area I was fishing. Even had one a-hole in a Z-9 troll up and fish the top I'd just gotten broken off in while I was rerigging. Unfortunately the wind made my leader tying slow and his getaway fast or he'd gotten a carolina rig to the midsection. Did ponder the idea of whether a bayboat could jump a Nitro like an airboat.
We've fished this area and on Sam Rayburn many times in the Skeeter and gotten nothing but respect so I concluded it was the exact opinion you just voiced that resulted in my bad experiences. Because we've fished same methods using bass boat and trolling motor to hold our spot caught large fish, hooping and hollering and left to weigh in then came back to find the same boats sitting in their same spots and our spot still vacant. Maybe they hit it hard while we were gone.

At the end of the day we were driving in and saw some birds diving, so we stopped upwind, put the trolling motor down, and quietly moved towards the fish. This other a-hole comes in on step, and stops IN the birds, I mean directly in them!! The guys on the boat looked like they had just gotten out of a Orvis photo shoot. we are just getting in casting distance when this happens. By this time I blow a gasket. I Run out of curse words in my vocabulary, and that is hard to do. One person made one cast in that boat, the boat never stopped, and they leave, but not before the driver yelled " your not going to catch anything anyway.. This just blew my mind. They get back on step and go to another group of birds. Well i had had enough by then. I started up and drove directly through though their birds wide arse open.
