False River question

Spent Saturday on False River for the first time recreationally. While floating on a mat boatside looking across the lake, I noticed a fairly large dorsal fin surface and dive much like a dolphin would, but probably half the size.
When I decided to mention it later, one of the young ladies said she swore see saw the same thing. The only thing I could come up with was a paddlefish, but Google is saying different things on whether there is a sustainable population there.
Are paddlefish in there, and are they common to see?

I would bet that there are. Its plenty deep enough. Iv never seen one but it Seems logical that they would be filter feeding close to the surface this time of year.

Definitely not a carp/buffalo
Dorsal was thick front to back and prominently triangular
Gemini said they can survive in an oxbow lake, whereas another inquiry said since it is not a continuous river, it would need to be stocked
I'm guessing there's a very small population. No other fish fits the description.

I was just curious how common they are. I had a few margaritas, but I'm positive of what I saw, and no other fish species fit

Back in the early 2000s we found one dead on the bank that was around 6 feet long.

They're definitely out there, we see one floating every few years

Does False River get back flow from the Mississippi River once in a while?

Old River is and gets crazy high when the river rises
False River has a few canals that flow into it but I don't believe they make it to the Mississippi

My Dad lived on false river.
I saw a huge dead one floating by the pier one day.
