I’ve got a new 2018 f250 king ranch fx4 with stock Michelin street slicks. I was dead set on getting a 2 inch level kit and putting 37 inch nitto ridge grapplers as I need decent set of tires for mostly muddy terrain during hunting season. I started going down the internet rabbit hole and stumbled upon the death wobble that seems to be instigated by those who installed a level kit. Anyone have experience or information on this? Am I better off putting 35s without a level kit?

I have a 2017 with a 3 inch kit on basically a 35.4x11.8. I haven’t had a problem with death wobble but as soon as I took of the stock tires and put on the Toyo MT’s my truck pulled to the right really bad. That was before I put the leveling kit on it.

I have a 17' with a 4" lift/Toyo 37x12.50 MTs that I put on with less than 500 miles and haven't had any issues except some minor rubbing at full lock.. Have around 32,000 miles on it now and haven't experienced the death wobble-

I’ve experienced the death wobble with stock Michelins on my 2011. Three sets of tires and it seems to happen once I get over 40k on the tires. Can’t help with your question. Good luck.

The death wobble seems to be over exaggerated and almost always is the result of guys running crappy tires or having front end components going bad due to normal wear and tear. I've got a leveling kit and 35's on my 2012 and it's been on the truck for over 100k miles, no such issues or problems.

Well shite. I guess I’ll try the level kit with 35s that way I won’t get stuck with unusable 37s if I run into problems and need to remove level kit

What problems would you have? 35's look incredibly small on the 17'+ with a level.. The stock tire is already 34.3" (assuming you have the 20" wheel with the 275/65) so if you went with a 35" you wouldn't even need a level..

Is that a “banded” plate?

Agreed. I’m gonna play it safe with 35s without the level kit. That should be plenty for what I need to get to my duck blind. Plus I tow a boat very frequenty so it’s probably better without. Thanks for the help. Decision finalized. Please no one else respond so that I don’t change my mind

I personally don’t think the wear on ball joints and U-joints is worth the mostly aesthetic changes of lifts or levels

Yep. And a "banded" sticker on my Yeti. Was free and matched the color of my truck. Your point?

I had 35" MTZs on my '08, and had the death wobble. I can tell you that it isn't fun. Keep your tires balanced, and suspension and steering joints tight, and you'll be okay

I have a 2017 lariat with a 2.5” level and run 35” KO2’s with no issues. Sold the michelins for $600.

You sound like you put 60k into a truck and sell it before you get 75 thousand miles and get raped by depreciation and buy another 60k truck.

I just put my money into other things and drive a truck till 200k and the less I have to pull apart the front end to replace everything because of a useless lift the better.
