Looking to get a truck and heard these can help save some gas. I read though that they only save you like 1 mpg. That's not a large improvement.

Anyone like theirs? Any reason not to upgrade? It's less $1000 to upgrade, and you'll repay that over the life of the vehicle.

Heard torque is not an issue with Ecoboost and is even slightly better than V8 at lower RPM

I don't have one, but all my friends who do love it compared to the v-8 of the previous years. The new model Fords are top notch

I get 18.9 mpg during my everyday driving. I got about 10.5 mpg pulling a 22' baystealth to venice with 5 guys. No issues at all pulling the boat out of the water

I've got a 2012' F-150 ecoboost. Love it. I'm getting 22-23 mpg on the interstate & 18-19 around town. I got 13 mpg pulling my boat from lake charles to port aransas.

I did notice an improvement in mpg after I got over 5,000 miles. It was gradual, not all at once.

I've got 3.55 rear end also.

My father in law has had his for a little more than a year now. He loves it, and pulls a 20' champion boat regularly. He swears it pulls better than the previous 5.4, as well as the GMC 5.3 hes had over the recent years.

I have the 2011 FX4 with the 5.0, and I love it as well. Been having it for a year, and i average 16-17 around town.

The eco boost has more power, not terribly much, but enough to notice a little more pep.

I saw some shite on Gearz where they put a 4" exhaust on one and gained like 35hp and 58lb-ft. An intake gained them like 13 more hp. It was ridiculous

I have a 2012 FX4 Screw Ecoboost, I get about 20 hwy and 17.5 mixed driving. Pulling the boat or trailer loaded with ATV's and gear is effortless, the engine never seems to run out of torque going uphill and never shifts out of 6th on mild hills. The 420 ft lbs of torque at 2500rpm is extremely helpful. Doesnt have the nice rumble of a V8 but the turbo whine makes up for it IYAM.

tow mileage? I've seen some say they can get 15 mpg pulling an 18' boat. Either way event he 13 I saw on this thread is better than my 10mpg.

these can be pros...but i have a 2011 gmc sierra 4x4 and i get one less mile a gallon and i have a V8...so its not that big of difference in MPG...but to be honest i wouldnt pay that much for a V6...buddy of mine has one and it feels like it struggles when it pulls his boat...so yea a pro-1 mpg more than a v8...con-way to much money for a v6 and i feel like it doesnt have more power at all...thats jus my opinion

If you buy a truck, I'm making you pull the boat to the duck hole this year.

I just don't trust a turbo. If that thing goes out, watch out.

And FIFTY less horsepower. But yeah, those two more cylinders make you sleep easier at night.

Either you're full of shite or he's trying to tow a Hatteras.

Yeah, 420 ft/lbs of torque and is weak. What does your 5.3 have? Oh, 105 less... And yours beats 0-60 in 6.4 seconds?
