If you have the time to wait, you can get way more money with a private sale instead of a trade in.

More or less based on options but pretty close

Add about $7-8k to each of those if you're looking at either Hub City Ford or Courtesy Ford.

I priced about a month ago. I can get an XL more loaded than an XLT for cheaper.. center console, NAV, painted sport bumpers, 20" wheels...

Yeah isnt that the STX version? I've been checking them out as well, sounds like the best 'value'. But doesnt look like there is one within 200 miles of me. Its a decent looking truck, except for the black door handles.

Such as... STX 4wd

PS - im an extended cab kinda guy

Good looking truck, but I would need 4 doors.

So, Lafayette is not the best place to buy a ford hunh?

you can get painted door handles cheap. Terrebonne ford has a bunch and im waiting on a return email from a dealership in san Antonio... they have the 2wd crew cabs for 27k.

This. Dealers offered me 7500-8000 for my old truck. Listed it for 12000, sold it for 11500 in 2 days. Always worth a shot.

This may not apply, but their Toyota dealership is dishonest on trade-ins. We agreed upon a trade-in price before going there and when we got there they tried to create a phantom mechanical issue on the vehicle and low balled the trade-in by several thousand so we walked. Don't know if they have the same practices across their different dealerships.

Take off the door handles (Chrome or Black) scuff them up and color match paint. Can do the same with mirrors if you prefer color match.

There are deals on Fords from Baton Rouge to Houston if you are patient. Not to mention, the market is flooded with 2015-2017 models since everyone needs the new 2018 tailgate stamp.

Will be my plan. I refuse to pay $45-50k for a truck that gets washed twice a year.

2017 prices will continue to drop, as quantities are reduced. I have my eye on one, but don't trust the stealerships.

Are they selling King Ranch or Platinum models yet after the recall? I was in the market for a KR until he told me the price, we had a good laugh and I left immediately.

XLT
XL

XLT does not have leather. You have to go Lariat for that. If you dont need 4x4 then just go get a Lariat. You can get leather...dual climate control...heated steering...BLIS...nav...and a few other things in their 502a package I believe.

EDIT: Or you could always get leather put in after market....pretty sure you can get it a lot cheaper and more durable than the factory leather.

Slight hijack but how are used truck prices at the moment? Do they still suck?

Yes, used prices suck.

On the new Fords when test driving make sure that there is not any vibrations

Friend of mine bought one last week and it had a vibration. Salesman said it was just flat spots in the tire. Drove it and never got better, took it back in and talked with the service manager about it and he told him that there was some runout on the drive shaft and that there was no fix right now. Said he had 30 trucks to work on and no way to fix them.

If you get one that isn’t vibrating, you should be fine. If it does vibrate, walk away.
