Just bought a 17' Sea Pro With a 90 ETEC. Anyone own one and what are positives and negatives. Mine is a 2006 has less than 100 hours. Owner said its only used a tank and a half of oil.

Are you meaning the reservoir tank for oil injection? Seems like not much oil for 100 hours.

if you get a BRP tuning kit you can program it to run on full synthetic oil, it will use very little oil.
But overall its a solid motor, we run them on all our boats for LSU.

the only negative is under the cover of the engine on the starbard side is a fuse and holder. Know where it is located and have spare fuses. I have been on two boats where these fuses blew out. there is also a place on the holder for a spare fuse.

Yes From the looks of the engine and boat I would say it had way less than a 100 hours. He said in the past 2 years he only fished out of it 5 or 6 times.

I haven't ever blown a fuse on my etec and I run the shite out of mine. I will say that I go through oil at a decent pace. That would be my only complaint. It's great on gas though.
