I've known quite a few of these over the years. I knew one in particular who would hunt 5 days a week and had to work equally hard just to give away all that duck meat instead of throwing it away. What's the board's opinion of hunters who don't eat what they shoot?

Im willing to bet a lot of duck goes to waste each year from hunters. Not going to lie I’ve wasted duck meat before. Forgot it was in the freezer and got freezer burnt.

Not sure what the Instagram hunters do who hunt 40 days a year. No way they eat that much duck

I don’t care if the person shooting it eats it as long as it gets eaten by someone.

Hunters for the hungry would probably take it. I usually do not freeze fish/game and have never found a shortage of people (work/home) who would use it.

I don’t get to hunt but 2 or 3 times a year but have some friends that give me ducks to eat... don’t mind a bit.

Calm down, Mike Honcho. The way he talked I got the impression he couldn't give away all that meat and probably threw a bunch away.

As long as someone eats it who cares. Now the ones who kill them for only the pictures and just throw the ducks away should be executed

I don't think a dead duck or any game animal cares who or what eats it.......

dont really see the point of shooting it unless you have someone in mind to give it to

just dont kill it if its going to be wasted meat

but as long as they see it doesnt get wasted who cares if "they" eat it or not

My sisters father in law hunts every day of season and doesn't really eat it. He gives it to my sister who then gives it to me. What I dont grill I'll grind for chili or make summer sausage

If they are giving it to someone and it's getting eaten, I don't have a big issue with it.

The thing is, that is someone that is just shooting ducks for the fun of it, which is exactly what the anti-hunting groups get angry about. It's a bad image for hunters as a whole.

The only way I will eat them is cut into small pieces and wrapped in bacon with cream cheese and whatever else in them.

But that would make a piece of shoe leather taste good

My duck consumption is based off how many turkey, dove, and quail I kill. There’s been several seasons where I am guilty of throwing out freezers full of freezer burnt duck. But I’m also more in it for the sport than the actual game meat.

LOL....then there's people like me....a duck hunter that can't ever get away to hunt or doesn't have a spot...and loves eating duck....

Let me tell you...the struggle is real.

I'm telling you baw. You can do so much with them if you don't nuke it and make it drier than a fart.

I think if you what you kill you should make sure someone gets a chance to eat them. I kill between 50-100 ducks a year. Most time I bring em home because the people I take hunting don't eat them because they are lazy fricks and don't want to clean them. I cook em through out the year, give some to friends that don't hunt. Matter of fact I got some thawing out now from last year now.
