Yeah, this is a Facebook link, and some great video on here for the hog hunters. I love to watch a dog work, whether it's on birds or hogs. These dogs are hitting those hogs like a middle linebacker on a running back. LINK

It takes a gun to kill a deer... But it takes balls to catch a hawg.

Why torture the hogs? I understand using dogs to locate and corner a hog, but why engage? Why continue to encourage the dogs to go at the hog once you are within safe shooting distance?
Seems like unnecessary risk to your dogs and unnecessary cruelty to the hog.

Sidenote, I'm all for eradicating invasive feral pigs, just think we should aim to be humane in our interactions with all animals.

So easy shot on the pig, but lets the dogs chew on it instead. Trash is gonna trash, and you're trash for celebrating this.

When I’ve hunted with dogs they held the hog down until we could get there and then we killed it immediately with knives.

So have I. Immediately is the key word. Again, trash is gonna trash.

For this kind of garbage? Of course I did. Maybe try not celebrating trash behavior.

Looks like they let the bay dogs get at the hogs. Here's how it's close to being done LINK.

My buddy's brother had a pit that would literally rip the faces and necks out of hogs. This dog actually killed a pack of 8 wild dogs by himself on the edge of their field on a game cam. That's what kind of dog you want snatching up hogs. But.....he had to end up shooting it, because it bit the neighbors daughter's finger

I have an opinion on people who would do this much less anyone who would watch this and think it's cool but I want go there

they are invasive swine and need to all die but do it as quick as possible with the least amount of suffering

respect all animals

You’ve showed that you don’t know anything about hunting hogs with dogs so your opinion doesn’t really matter.

Dog hunters don’t bring guns. They knife em.

Not sayin I agree or disagree but a hog dog owner’s hunting is all about enjoying his dog’s working and not about shooting. The guys I know who have dogs rather not have any guns in the field while they’re running pigs.

Yep. I don't see any joy in torturing an animal. Gives hunters a bad name, and deservedly so.

Man, that's pretty shitty. I'm all for eradicating feral hogs, do it in a more humane way. That was hard to watch. This doesn't even qualify as hunting. It's savage killing of a defenseless animal. I imagine the type of person that enjoys this must also enjoy dog fighting.

Bunch of pansies in this thread.

Terriers were once released onto sailing ships to eliminate rats on board.

Same thing.

For the dog owner it is pretty simple: Dogs enjoy doing dog things.

You’re gonna have a hard time keeping the bay dogs off of the hog once they find it. Also if they don’t engage them, the hog will continue running for possibly miles and you will never be able to get there and kill it. The bay dogs locate the hogs and slow them down enough for the pit bulls to get there and hold the hog down. At that point it is much safer to run up and stab the hog as the dogs are holding it down.

I’m not sure that this is any less humane than shooting a hog. How often have you seen pigs need to be shot multiple times before they finally die? Quite often. Typically with a good stick of the knife they are completely dead within 30 seconds to a minute and you are much less likely to injure a dog than if you tried to shoot the pig.

Furthermore they’re fricking hogs, an invasive species. I wouldn’t imagine hunting a game animal like that, but hogs are basically large rats as far as I’m concerned.

That's the dog's reward for his hard work finding the hog. No different than shaking a coon out and letting them fight it. It's training. A hog was maimed in the process but that's just how it goes. I have hog dogs and i guess i am trashy but i really don't see a problem with it.
