Can the boys even hurt a hog? Hogs are pretty tough

I agree. I hate hogs but making the animal linger for enjoyment is stupid.

You didn’t like the humane knife in the heart either.

What you’re not understanding is that they had no gun- most likely- and the only way to get to the hog was have the catch dogs, well, catch it. At least the hand full of hog dog hunts I’ve gone on, that was how it was done.

Well, by the time we got to the hog, the catch dogs already had them but a loose hog is a threat to the people.

Yes. Nothing promotes masculinity like cleaning up after a dog.

What a retard you are

i don’t see them knifing em until they have been completely controlled by the dogs.

I’ve seen about 30 hogs killed w dogs. The majority of the people are a little sadistic. Only a couple ended the hunt as quickly as they could have. Yes you have to use a knife to protect the dogs. But most of the time the guys knifed it when it was basically too tired to move

Hey, if that is your thing that is your thing.

Nah man, I think we’re on the same page. Personally, I don’t care to hunt with dogs. Have only been on a few of them. I love hunting hogs over bait and with my rifle. Don’t care to see animals suffer either, I as just trying to splain the process of some who do.

But no where in that vid did I see them let the dogs go on after the hog was subdued. In fact in none of it were the hogs subdued. Therefore, without a gun, they couldn’t have knifed them, yet.

Was expecting a lot worse with this video.

I wish we had a video of a hog eating a fawn, etc. let’s see the reaction then

I watched this video after reading the comments on here expecting something awful and a hog squealing and something graphic...y’all are complaining about this short video? I’m all for humane kills and all, but that’s nothing. The video literally goes seconds after the bulldog catches. I’m not sure if the people complaining realize, but after the catch dog catches good is when you run in and kill the hog or catch it. It’s not safe to until it is caught. As far as shooting goes with all the dogs around in close quarters it’s always a risk.

Call me brutal, but I love seeing working dogs doing what they were bred to do. Whether that be blood trailing, retrieving, or beagles burning rabbits up in a thicket.

I really believe that most of the negative comments came from folks who didn't even watch the video. Everyone doesn't have a FB account, so they couldn't see it. They just ASSUMED, based on a couple of comments about animal cruelty, inhumane treatment, and dogs chewing on helpless hogs. Well, at least those folks got their daily exercise by jumping to conclusions. Finally, a voice of reason to all the soyboys and SJWs that floated over here to the OB.

hog dog hunters are the epitome of white trash
A life long friend of mine certainly lived in a trailer when we were kids.

I would love to be as white trash as he is now. He rolls a hundred plus thousand $$$ worth of gear out every time he drops the gate to lets his dogs work.

His gear: loaded Dodge dually a fifth wheel trailer loaded with a swamp buggy along with two Polaris Razors & a couple 4 wheelers not to mention his massive 3 bedroom camp with separate building for a bar & pool room.

He defines "Simple Man" he started installing lath when he was 18, then started a stucco & lath business. He later drove a truck for several years. He worked hard, made good decisions and is living according to his rules.

He provides all that gear, food/drinks and lodging. He never mentions $$$ and says if anything he owes me. He is teaching his step son & his friends how to have fun, push their limits and get off their cell phones. He's smart they do all the work. He also donates show pigs to several local high schools 4h programs.

Dude is a baller with a GHD so white trash forever bruh. lol he's debt free too! I'm proud for him.

to me it looks like they've got baying dogs doing the catch dogs work. I'd want a big bulldog holding the hog

Could be. Maybe they had not unleashed the catch dogs yet in some of the videos?

You can give white trash money, but they'll still be white trash.

Not calling your buddy white trash by any means bc I don't know him, but just making sure we aren't confusing white trash with being poor.

Thanks for pointing this out, but I'm sure it's lost on the idiot above who thinks simply because someone has money he can't engage in trashy behavior.

There’s a fine line between doing something distasteful because you have to, and doing something because you enjoy doing it.

A man does what he has to do. A savage enjoys knifing God’s creatures.

A byproduct of running dogs on hogs is you are going after them instead of letting them come to a trap or a baited pile. They have no natural predator to drive them away from an area other then lack of food.

They are like locust. The come in, eat everything in site, and then move on. In the mean time they destroy the land and kill or drive away everything else that was once there.

Going at them with dogs takes the fight to them so to speak. It puts them at a disadvantage, and eventually they get tired of the harassment, and move on.

Those that will catch a boar only to turn them into a Barr hog are not doing any favors. The logic of taking it out of the gene pool is a total farce. Another boar is more than happy to play the role of Jody for him in his absence, all the while the Barr hog is still tearing up the land, and killing everything it can.

I don’t really have an opinion on hog doggers, but I’ll say this:

I love to hunt. Been doing it since I was a child and I have zero problem harvesting an animal.. however, when I was either 14 or 15 years old, I was on a deer hunt and we were running dogs.. I had a 125lb doe run right at me and I emptied my 12 gauge on her (I panicked and missed the first shot completely ) and she dropped about 10-15 feet from me. She was still flipping around, so I had to knife her so it would end. I’ll never forget what that felt like. I didn’t like it at all. Every kill i has up to that point and even after it was a clean shot/kill.. that one incident has stuck with me and I hope I never have to do it again..

Call me what you want, but I found zero enjoyment in stabbing/slicing something to death - however, I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with it, it just isn’t for me

Lets be clear dude earned everything he has.

I was responding to an individual saying hog hunters are the epitome of white trash.
I was stating the fact that my boy is a hog hunter and may be many things but white trash isn't one of them.
