Sorry to hear and good luck. I’d think if you wore her out with an extended walk, work out, swim, then she’d likely eat from being tired and hungry over being stubborn? Maybe something to try.

I’d also think if it was a tooth issue you could touch/ clean them yourself and see if anything sticks out as being painful?

As said also I’m not a vet but is she drinking normally?

Have you made sure your dog food hasn’t gone rancid?

I’ve bought a bag of dog food that apparently had been on the shelf for a while. It was a big bag so it lasted at the house for a long time.

Dog quit eating it. I bought a new bag and she ate fine, which led me to checking the dates in the old bag.

d think she may have some sort of blockage.

When that happens to our lab it was a blockage that had to be removed. Er swallowed a small foam ball. his system couldn't pass it and it made an obstruction in his colon.

My female lab stopped eating, I took her to the vet, he couldn’t find anything. He said he could do exploratory surgery, but expensive. We decided to wait a few days. The next day she shite out an old rag, and was back to normal.

[quote]What’s wrong with feeding a dog twice a day? I have a Redbone Coonhound,I started feeding her twice a day because she would devour her food and then throw it up.I feed her the same amount daily, just half in AM and half at night.
My sister-in-law has a Black Lab Seeing Eye dog and she feeds him twice a day.

What I can’t figure out is why dogs swallow all kinds of non-food items. My Redbone loves to eat a paper napkin or paper towel if she can get ahold of it.If I catch her at it she’ll,swallow it whole because she know I’m going to take it away.
Once she got ahold of a towel and shredded it.I didn’t realize she swallowed any of it but couple days later I saw her in the yard pooping, she was going round and round with something hanging about 12 inches out her butt. I went to get a rubber glove to pull it out but when I got out there she had passed it.It was about an 18” strip of the towel she destroyed.

Do you give treats? If so, have you changed brands lately? I unknowingly slow-poisoned my Basset Hound to death because of contaminated jerky treats made in China. She went on hunger strike, and would only eat the treats, not knowing it was the treats that were causing her to not eat in the first place. She passed and neither the vet or I could figure it out until a class action lawsuit popped up against the treat manufacturer.

Had the same thing with my lab a couple of months ago, I changed his food and started adding warm water to it, completely destroying it now

Went to the vet again and got a full blood panel — she’s fine. Gave her some refrigerated food over the weekend for a day which she ate. Didn’t eat for another 36 hours but she has eaten her last three meals.

Chalking it up to her being a c u next tuesday. Wish she could reimburse me for the vet bills
