Plus the guy could be from out of state. Some places have some whacked out draconian gun laws.

Why? Would you say the same thing if he asked it about a BAR .270?

I said the same thing earlier, they are both semiauto except the BAR is much more powerful.

Personally, I like to do 5 minutes worth of research on my own. Especially when it comes to firearms.

I dont think anyone is questioning the lethality of a large caliber BAR. The OP sparked the debate when he stated his reasons for wanting the rifle combined with his inexperience.

tacticool + zero firearm experience = debate.

why so hard to understand?

I've never owned a car before but I did drive one for a few minutes years ago. I thinking of buying an open-wheel Indy car because they look really bad-arse.

Do I need a license for that?

Anybody see a problem with this?

Or maybe someone should have told the OP to "tap the brakes" and ease into the whole going straight to an AR route.

what about this one???

There is a perfect and very sad example of mixing tacticool and no experience/stupidity. "Look at this awesome flashlight on my zombie gun! BOOM"

no one can buy an open wheel indie car for driving on US Streets

I see no problem with any vehicle for any grown up to buy as their first car.

would it make more sense to you if "open wheeled indy car" was substituted with "Bugatti Veyron"?

That is obviously not from lack of training or familiarity.

Just made an order from De-lton

Need to find out if Essential Arms is back up and running after the flood BS so I can get a lower for the parts I just ordered. Decided to build my own from a stripped lower.

pointing a loaded rifle (and not knowing if it's even loaded) at someones gut to show them your fancy new tacticool flashlight is not a result of lack of training or familiarity? really?

I would like to build my own and start with an Essential Arms lower. Where to go from there I do not know.

Can I get a complete lower from them?

I get the point about no experience and tacticool, I just don't consider an AR-15 to be "an open-wheel Indy car" and other firearms to be s Ford Focus. They are all potentially dangerous in the wrong hands and each has its unique risks and benefits.

The fact that an AR may be used with a 30 round mag doesn't mean much as far as accidental discharge because it's semi-automatic, unless the guy was a real clutz and caught the trigger 30 times.

Pretty good example (finally). Especially considering he was dicking with a flashlight attachment when it went off.

I was just using a little hyperbole to make the point.
