My Dad would usually get one a year from the kitchen window. Had a feeder in the middle of his pasture.

Dogs tend to better when the ground is wet and there's a light drizzle. I don't think it applies to a deluge though.

They live in that shite. Its not like they go in a house or cave when its raining and wait for it to stop. They are out in the elements all the time.

If anything, I think a hard down pour may make them hunker down just because of the noise and everything around them moving. Makes it harder for them to detect danger so they may wait until they can better utilize their senses.

They are wild animals. Comfort, isn't really an issue. Survival and breeding is. Those will always trump everything else

As has been said. Get in the stand. I’ve personally not noticed much deer movement in steady to strong storms.

I jumped two deer coming to the stand. Pretty positive they were bedded up along the pasture.

My story about hunting in the rain.
We were all on the porch at the camp debating on going get the wet arse or not. We all hung around waiting for it to slack up. But it never did. Well about 8:30 one guy that had brought his young son to the camp that weekend said the hell with it and they left. Literally 20min later they pulled back up with a deer. He said he was half way up the ladder when he saw the deer in the cutover.

I always jump deer on the trail to one box stand. I’m about to start walking with my shotgun and some buck shot.

It got foggy around 4:30 so I packed up and went check a few cameras. I’m eating at some cafe in Magnolia.

Saw 3 bucks last week when it rained and was cool temps.
Came out not long after it quit.

Haven’t seen a deer since then, 3 hunts.
Weather has really sucked though. Hot and windy.
Things should be prime time after Monday.
Much cooler and better weather.

The 3 of the last 4 nice bucks I have harvested were harvested in the steady rain. Don’t be pudding and buy a good rain suit and don’t miss out on some good hunting,

My mom loves that place. That cafe was on the way home and it was damn good!

Wife and kids are coming up tomorrow. Probably hit up Mr Whiskers.
