I used to be a rep in the business. As we've gotten older, most of us prefer to ride "in" something vs "on" something.

Both have pros/cons. If you have wide trails/terrain I'd get a side x side. If not, go with a wheeler.

SXS - more useful for work/practical.

4 wheeler - more fun to ride.

I prefer a four wheeler, as I can get more places with it. Being old and lazy now, I prefer to be able to ride right up to a downed deer to bring it back to camp.

Depends on terrain. Good roads a SxS is a no brainier. But right now the portion of my lease that is not under the river is about 30% accessavle by Side x side. 90% by wheeler. And our rice fields are rutted to hell and back by the heavy arse SxS's that barrel thru them. 4 wheelers barely cut a rut. But, windshields and comfortable seats and ride go along way. I've got one of each but if I had to buy anothrr it would probably be another Yamaha SxS.

4 Wheeler -
Can't ride trails in state/federal refuges in a SXS
Storage space - I keep mine stored in garage smaller footprint and only space I have
We ride through tight areas that a SXS wouldn't get through
Use it mainly for hunting and a little fun riding, doesn't justify the cost of a SXS
Fits in the back of my truck

I've been debating whether or not to get a sxs and ditch my foreman, but I think I prefer the 4wheeler for what I do.

I only use the bike to carry feed to stand's and pick up dead deer at 1 place I hunt. Every now and then, I need it to get in the woods and get a deer out that I wouldn't be able to get to with a sxs.

On our other property where we run dogs, a lot of guys have Rangers and a few of us still ride 4 wheelers. I find it easier to get around on the bike plus it's nearly impossible to get stuck. We spent quite a bit of time winching out Rangers this year.

Not to mention you need a larger trailer to move a sxs around.

i hate side x sides. you are so restricted and i hate the steering wheels. much better control over bad terrain with a handlebar. i guess rollbars are nice, but then again you can easily bail off a 4wheeler. the only positives i can think of for a side x side is power, windshield for cold, and the bed to carry shite.

this is for hunting woods. if you are talking about a ranch or something, just use a truck

also i hate the fricking gas pedals. its such a bitch with boots and just a PITA. if a side x side had handlebars and a thumb throttle, that would be the ticket

Side-by-Side. Got a bed like a truck to haul that big buck you shot, sacks of corn, and any gear. Not many places a 4-wheeler gets to that a good side-by-side can't. Also, windshield for the wind and especially all those branches - just bust through without a care. AND, someone can ride with you without it being gay.

I'd love to have a SxS for our place but most of the trails are barely big enough for a 4wheeler. SxS are great for open country, but you need something a little more nimble in the woods

SXS if your a road hunter, lease hunter, with ease of access and nice right of ways, sip bourbon while you ride and BS on the phone back and forth and at the deer stand with a cigar and cheap porn mags in the box blind. Probably wearing the latest camo that has startch marks and matches from head to toe with the smell of Abercrombie fierce lingering.

4-wheeler if you hunt off the beaten path and have to drag one a mile, use a climber, camo never matches cause you need the breakup, smell like 4 day old deer piss and smoke from the camp fire. Copenhagen ring in the pocket and just finished a brewsky before heading out. Probably stopped to crap in the woods by the SXS owners stand in the way into yours....

Thought it was funny to add to the conversation we sit around the camp and laugh about it all the time, it's so true at times

I want a SxS mainly for the storage and seating. I like being able to get my Rancher unstuck or stick a leg out to keep it from flipping.

Lmao, yep Chad your a SXS kinda feller. Probably have had on a pair of skinny jeans before too huh. Flatbill hat, shirts that were too small, drank a PBR or indian pale ale huh. You softer guys are made for the superior suspension that a SXS has. Good luck with your purchase..lmmfao
