Decent Cordless Fillet Knife?

People are asking me for gift ideas. I've often thought I'd like a cordless fillet knife so I don't have to drag out a cord on the patio. But, I'm not seeing a lot of options out there. Looks like the Rapala version doesn't get great reviews. Are there any brands worth buying?

I don’t know about the cordless, but I have the corded Rapala electric knife and have zero complaints.
ETA: I thought American Angler made a cordless, but I’m not seeing any in my search results. Maybe I’m remembering wrong. But I could’ve sworn they made one.

I had the corded rapala one until I dropped it on the concrete a week or so ago and it exploded into a dozen pieces. Really liked it, but may try the cordless for the same reason you mentioned.

Maybe I should also mention that 99% of the fish I clean are crappie. The reciprocating saw recommendations might be overkill.

Get a good regular fillet knife, 8" long, thin blade with a sharpener. Speckled Trout, Bass, perch, crappie, I dont bother with an electric knife.

I’ve only used a friend of mine’s Rapala cordless knife a couple times. No complaints, worked fine. He had nothing but good things to say about it. I like how on the trips where you only keep a couple fish to clean, you don’t have to run a cord, set up time is reduced, you can clean everything in remote areas, etc

I have the Rapala cordless. Works good for cleaning trout, bass, and smaller reds/drum.
Lacks power to really cut through scales on 20”+ reds. I just use my corded Electric Fisherman knife if I’m going to be cleaning reds. I rather the cordless one when I can use it though

This is what I was hoping to get out of the cordless one. I often just keep a few trout for dinner that night and would rather grab a cordless knife than deal with the cords. For big reds, I'd just use my big dexter.

Go OG cordless, way faster and no battery to croak
