I am looking at purchasing a crawfish pot and basket soon.

What size pot do I need to cook a sack of crawfish in one cooking?

80 quart?
100 quart?
Larger?

I like a 100, the 80 rarely gets used...

Great news. I have several gift cards left over from Christmas and going to spend them on this and a few other items. My going out to eat days are almost over for a while, as our first child is coming within the month.

I am just getting prepared for things to keep me company during the spring and summer months.

I'd get a hunned. You can fit all the extras with no problems

Yeah, looks like you can get a 100 quart at Academy for $110, while the 80 quart is $90. Twenty extra dollars for more room makes more sense.

Anybody turn a beer keg into a crawfish pot? How'd you like it?

I've got 2 in the attic right now with the valve/tube thing removed, thinking of getting at least one turned into a crawfish pot.

A beer keg holds a 35lb sack with no room to spare, so how ever many quarts a beer keg is would be the minimum.

Yeah they are on the small side. I think a keg is 60 or so quarts.

A keg is 15.5 gallons. So that'd be 62 quarts. So yea.
