All I know is that every diesel shop I go in ~80% of the trucks in there are fords. That alone would steer me away. Ymmv.

Tundra will have a diesel in a couple of years...

jab, I need to put in another order sometime.

A 5.0 Cummins in 2017. If the towing capacity is high enough, I'll buy one.

A lot more powerstrokes on the roads than any other. Simple numbers, my friend.

Keep telling yourself that's the only reason.
I've heard more nightmare stories about the powerjokes post 7.3 than any other engine, gas or diesel. Again just my opinion in the matter.
I work with people who haul I've 14k damn near daily for long trips and none of them run fords.
If ford was still running the 7.3, it'd still be king, but for now, I wouldn't touch one of their diesels.
But to answer your question. Tricare is the only game in town in the BR area.

Honestly man, the only people on this forum that are qualified to answer technical diesel questions are Pepperidge and now Coy. My knowledge just came from years of owning a hunk of junk, and I don't ever wish to own another one again.
I can knock the dude all I want, but he knows what he is talking about, and I won't ever deny that.
Pepp is the guy you want to talk to if you are thinking about a D-max

Good Ole jab. Still blowing smoke out your arse with zero facts. Missed you buddy. Don't get all cheesy on me.
Hammer, I understand. I'm trying to learn before I turn my 6.7 into your 6.4.

Yeah I guess my personal experiences aren't facts.
I'm far from an expert, just saying what I see daily...

I hear ya man. If you do tune it, I'd suggest going with the full monty(possibly even amsoil filtration system). Labor on fixing everything is what will kill you. You only want to do it once.
DEFINITELY DO STUDS the first time you have the cab off, and keep the programmer turned down low. While the truck can make 600hp, the parts weren't designed to do so in the long term

Agreed 200%.

From what I know, studs are not necessary on a stock lpfp. Once you need to upgrade your fuel pump, do it all.

My heads definitely lifted and blew a head gasket. TTY bolts are not optimal in the long term, and aftermarket studs fix that problem.
I was making massive boost when I did it though(62lbs)

Here's a little tip. Do not try to pull a D5 going 80 through the hills in Mississippi.

I spent an assload of money on my stock 6.7.
Dealer-serviced, extended warrantty, etc.
If this thing grenades, I'll battle with them.
That said, I haven't seen a ton of horror stories about them. The changes from 11-15 seem relatively minor.

How did I miss this shitstorm!
As a follow up to my original post, I'll give an update.
I took my truck to tri-care last week to have a front end noise looked at, and for 2 new tires. Tri-care knew about my sour experience with Coys, and they were EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable.
Turns out my front end noise was BADLY worn ball joints. This is something common on the F250's, and is something else Coys should have found IMHO. My rear end/pinion seal has a slow leak, which was visible.
Tri-care also found that my truck had a cheap aftermarket oil filter cap(which looked oem but wasnt. The filter wasn't seating properly), which they replaced with a motorcraft.
I don't think Coys ever put my truck on a lift, or even kneeled down to look under it.
I don't know if I would have still bought the truck or not, after what tricare found and coys missed......but at least I could have negotiated more.
My truck will only go to Tri-Care from now on.

And no, I will not delete my posts.
Sorry Coy but this was not a misunderstanding or an oversight. This was negligence / deceitful. You can keep my $100. Warning others is worth that to me.
