I have seen two coyotes in my yard each of the last three mornings. Can I shoot these suckers before they kill my pets? I live in a Baton Rouge neighborhood.

With all the gun fire in BR, i don't think anyone will notice Feed them some lead!

Shoot them with a .22 in the dome.

I see them near Burbank and Lee all the time. I’ve always wondered the same thing

all the land they are clearing for new hoods along Burbank is pushing them out. The Nextdoor feed for Riverbend Lakes is awesome for coyotes.

Gonna backfire on you
When the females stop hearing a male they were once used to hearing at night they go into heat immediately
So you kill some and end up with more pups

The law:
City limits - No discharging of firearms unless it is in self defense.
Parish - No discharge of handguns or rifles within 1/2 mile of any residence.
Reality - depends on where your hood is and how your neighbors react.

If I see one in my yard I am just going to grab my bow and pray to god it doesn't run in some kids backyard while they are waking up.

We have a lot of them in our neighborhood (Woodland Ridge) too. That large neighborhood being built off of Jones Creek seems to have pushed more wildlife our way.

I’ve read articles by biologists that it is counter-productive to shoot coyotes. It has do do with food availibity,an established pack will self regulate their population density. When some are removed,it upsets their pack structure and their reproduction will increase exponentially. So you end up with more coyotes than before.
All that being said,I can’t help myself.Anytime I have an opportunity to shoot one I shoot it.

Shoot them, no one will care that you shot a gun in the city limits. Just say you felt threatened or that the coyote charged you. Just take safe shots, make sure no houses are behind it etc.. Post pics of the cat stealers!

Take the foam out of an old couch cushion. Cut into ~3" x 3" blocks, soak the blocks of foam in some old cooking oil or bacon grease. Toss them in the yard and the coyotes will eat them and the foam will total plug their digestive system and within a couple days of not being able to shite...they die.
Did this at the hunting club and found dead coyotes everywhere.

Thanks may try that on the farm.
One night I shined a light as I saw eyes near a tractor i was charging a battery on close to wooded part of my land.
I saw coyotes all around me which amazed me at the time that I did not hear them.

Poisoning them is illegal.... collateral damage can be high. And a federal offense

Don’t do that crap. Can’t stand people that even repeat that crap. It’s illegal and other things will eat it and die as well.
