I haven't researched it, but what groups have come out against it? Didn't some of the law enforcement groups oppose it last time?

Yes most law enforcement oppose it.
Did 20+ other states get it wrong by going no permit? Why are those in Louisiana so against it?

I thought it passed before and honor chode vetoed it. Miguez said he’d bring it back as soon as Landry was sworn in.

the Sherriff's association has been outspoken against it for sure. We would be the 28th state to adopt it. I'm sure the pushback is due to the loss of "fees" associated with people who wouldn't renew their permit. I plan to keep mine for traveling to other states with reciprocal laws.

I would too. I like it for the ease of purchasing.

I wonder if they will change the laws regarding carrying a handgun while bow hunting on wma’s, if it passes. Currently, only people with a concealed carry permit are allowed to carry while bow hunting on a wma.

the sheriffs association is against it because they get money from the lic, teaching the classes etc, THEY CAN KICK ROCKS. Every state surrounding la is constitutional carry. As far as carrying on wma's the constitution says you can.

It should pass. Passed initially with a veto proof majority in both chambers 2 years ago, until JBE vetoed it and a few RINOs either changed their vote or didn’t show up for the veto override session. Landry said on the campaign trail that he’d sign it if the legislature passed the bill again.

You are right. Unfortunately, Louisiana is its own worst enemy with the corruption. It passed last time with a "veto proof" majority but...after the Governor's veto, some changed their vote to not override the veto. Wonder why they would do that? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

And if it's like here in Texas, people still put up "no unlicensed carry" signs. So even though constitutional carry exists, private businesses are more likely to prohibit carry to those without a license.

I don't know anything about Louisiana politics. Why would they be against it? Oklahoma Sheriffs were very supportive when Oklahoma went Constiutional Carry.

They would get voted out in a heartbeat if they had come out against it.
